Dubs In The Valley 2007

A group of guys from Madison, WI decided it was time to add another event to the Midwest VW summer calendar, with a couple of sponsors and their own hard earned cash Dubs In The Valley was created. Of course, we couldn't say no to signing on as a sponsor as the aforementioned group of guys happen to be a few old schoolers in the scene that we've known for a long time.

We set up a cruise with 2 meetup spots, one in Kenosha which then joined the one in Milwaukee, the caravan going up there was quite large and there was a nice assortment of cool cars. This show was open to all Volkswagens, watercooled and aircooled so it was great to see both on the drive up that sunny June morning.

Dubs In The Valley took place at Wisconsin International Raceway, the event had an informal car show, drag racing and camping. The show had a lot of super nice cars entered and the winners left with some super sweet trophies (well....if you call and beer bottle filled with water and a Dubs In The Valley place sticker a trophy...which we do!). The drag racing was fun, who are we kidding, drag racing is always fun...well unless you break something..which we didnt! The Cherry Bomb was brought out and came in 2nd in the heads up class to a pretty cool Ghia. Lots of people stayed behind to camp and hang out all night, we were not able to camp this time but we are definitely making sure we get to next year. Hearing the fun stories afterwards always makes you wish you stayed.

We thank you Dubs In The Valley crew for a fun show and we'll be back again next year! For those who didn't attend, this is one you'll want to mark your calendars for. Keep an eye on www.dubsinthevalley.com.
